Offline Maps don't work (yes, another one).
-
Hi all,
I loaded various offline Maps on my android phone (not SD card), for areas where cellular service might be patchy.
In Switzerland I had no mobile data
at all, so reverted to offline mode using the recently updated Maps... and got the "Cannot not calculate a route" message. Even when I used a previously downloaded route.
I was left without navigation so had to follow a friend. Frustrating!
In Croatia, I was following a route when my Nav randomly posted a similar message, and presented me with a "whirling circle of inactivity". Same result - no Sat Nav.
Whilst not wishing to be overly critical, it does seem like the app is behaving like it's still in Beta.
I'd like to know that urgent work is ongoing to resolve the issue, hopefully so the rest of my tour isn't so stressful.
Thanks as always ...

I had this problem. To navigate offline, you have to remember to put the "Offline" parameter active, otherwise it is impossible to calculate a route even though there is no network present. It still happens to me today. I think that it will be possible to go offline if there is no network...

@Jem-Cotton Did you download the routes for offline navigation?
-
@Jem-Cotton, you need to put your device in offline mode in the settings - functional menu. Also you need to start the route from your download folder in the account menu.
-
@Nick-Carthew Hi Nick, absolutely.
8 gb worth!
-
@Con-Hennekens Hi - that was what I did. The system could not calculate a route and simply told me to go online.
Of course, when I did there was an issue as I had no mobile service.

@Jem-Cotton My question was referring to your routes, not the maps. You need to download your routes for offline navigation to work.
-
@Nick-Carthew Hi Nick.
Sorry - misunderstood.
Yep - all routes had been downloaded in advance for the eventuality of Internet outages.

@Jem-Cotton, can you share the route, I will try to duplicate the problem.
