Which Road am I On?
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Did a 250 mile round trip yesterday and the route guidance from the app worked well. A few thoughts though:
- Road Name and Number.. One aspect that I noticed is that sometimes there is a road label at the bottom and sometimes there is none. Additionally, the road name is given but not the road number - difficult to see the road number on the map. I would like to see both all the time and this should be a configurable option as an either, or and both.
- Text and icons. Way to small on a mobile phone screen. A configurable size for the user would be really helpful as, at present, you cannot really see what they are except for an indication by colour for icons.
- Long Sections. First screenshot shows โStay Left that had been there for 30 miles! This should be exit Junction 9 on M40 and then say โStay Leftโ for the filter lane for the junction when you are about 1-2 miles away. Standard signage for the first junction warning would be at 1 mile.
Similar but non-motorway is the warning of the left turn in 5.8 miles but the text would be better to say continue on A3400 (with the road label at the bottom) and then change to the turn indication with road name/number once within 1-2 miles. Or have the indicator say straight on for 5.8 miles with the road name until the last mile and then change to the turn indication with details.
The route I did yesterday is very familiar and i know it well so my thoughts really come from how would i view the information given if I was in an area I did not know. I want to be able to relate what is on the screen to route signs and features I am seeing.
Again, keep up the great work.

@Dave-J-0 Thanks for your kind words and elaborate feedback! We will keep up the good work
1: Excellent suggestion, will pick this up quickly!
2: Slightly sad to hear that, we really did make everything slightly larger to ensure it is big enough. Will see what we can do. How does the app compare to others you use? When I use Google Maps for example, it is way smaller
3: Interesting, could you share the route you drove and indicate at which waypoint / where this happened?Glad you like the app! We will keep improving it

@Corjan-Meijerink I have used other apps like Sygic, Scenic and OsmAnd where the text and icons are bigger. Understand system limitations though. As an aside, when are a userโs list of Favourites going to be accessible through the app for navigation?
The route I followed:
https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/track/443649?mode=share
Essentially heading SE from Birmingham on the M40 from where it begins after the M42 up to the Oxford Junction on the M40 at Junction 9. There is a left-hand filter lane used (one of the three motorway lanes) which is why it correctly says stay left although you are exiting the motorway at Junction 9. Hope that explains.

@Dave-J-0 Thanks for sharing the route!
I can't make any exact predictions regarding those features so you'll have to excuse me for that. The time till available for Beta will be somewhere early 2023. The rest of this year (not very long) is focused on CarPlay / minor community suggestions
It will be implemented before the final release for sure!

@Corjan-Meijerink thanks for the honest reply. Very much appreciated and I understand we cannot have everything at once - despite us asking

@Dave-J-0 You gotta have something to look forward to No harm in asking!
