How to Optimize Route Planning for Multiple Stops?

Hello

I am using my route app for organizing deliveries with several stops but I am having difficulties optimizing the route properly.

I have experimented with the automatic optimization tool but occasionally it appears like the stops are not in the right order when there are a lot of stops.

Does anybody know how to improve the optimization; particularly for big batches of addresses? how can I ensure that the app dynamically modifies the route to take into account real time traffic updates?

I do a photographic rally in Ireland with 26 Waypoints. I usually use Basecamp route optimisation but find that I can usually better the computed route by eye-balling it and adjusting as necessary.
