AA: easy point selection menu / zoom in/out

After having used MRA a few times in combination with Android Auto in Belgium with its typical Sunday "pensenkermissen" en associated "kermiskoersen" I have frequently found the need for being able to zoom out on the map, as well as being able to open a selection menu to select a next waypoint along the route to navigate to a point beyond all the deviations.
I know both can be done in the app on the phone, but many times it is not an option to immediately stop and park with a group of cars.
Disclaimer: my last route via MRA is already 2 months ago, so maybe this has been addressed already in one of the updates since.
