Apple CarPlay issue

I just returned from a 450 mile each way drive using Navigation on CarPlay. During the drive, the Navigation app would drop out and take me to the CarPlay main screen. I thought it might be a cable issue so I changed the cable to an Apple brand cable. It didn't correct the issue. My passenger had to restart the app each time and it would resume in the same place I was at before. I thought maybe I needed to download the maps to correct the issue. The same issue continued. I really couldn't take a screen shot since there weren't any fail messages or anything out of the ordinary on the screen. The only thing I didn't try was to reboot my Iphone. Any insight would be appreciated.

@Larry-Stayner there indeed are still some stability issues with CarPlay. More improvements in the next update!
Generally it helps to open the app first yourself and then connect to CarPlay

@Corjan-Meijerink Thanks for the reply. I think I did start MRA before I connected but will confirm.

I last week also had the problem that the connection between my IPhone (14 with iOS 17) and my car (VW) was lost when I called "Siri". I could then only see MRA on my phone.
