Different route followed between MRA & Next versions on iPhone
-
I constructed a Route between Two points in Wellington that I expected to follow the main highway. On the Web, I found it impossible to make the route follow the main highway for the route. It diverted through urban streets and no amount of via points would change the route. If I did succeed in shifting the route to highway 2 it would add inn diversions as if you had placed the via point on the wrong side of a divided road. In the current MRA it would follow the highway correctly. In Navigation - Next beta it reverted to the Web route. See screen short.

@Neil-Bartlett Do you want to share the route? Make sure it is public. By the way, I don't see a screenshot either.

What map did you use in the planner to create the route?
A route between 2 points is asking for differences.
PS, no screenshot -
Ok Here is the SS of the deviation that I took at the time. I rode the route last weekend as Part of a larger route and ignored the deviation by riding along the main highway. When I looked today the route in my folder has corrected itself? Is it possible it was an traffic issue the App was routing around?
I built the route first using a number of via points, then added to the number to try and straighten the route, then when that did not work I removed all except the start and finish. Very strange that MRA current, and Nav - beta were different at the time.
I do make the point that I'm so new that I know nothing. I had an IAM ride to plan and it was not going well in Basecamp (its buggy on the Mac) so tried out MRA and liked it, so purchased both subscriptions at once on a Wim. The Beta is a bit buggy when in and out of cell coverage but otherwise I like it and think it could become my main Nav for the distance riding that I do here in NZ.
BTW, both the route from Lower Hutt to Carterton, the short version, and on to Wild Oak Cafe are both public.
Regards Neil

You have te copy/paste the url of the route in this topic, else we can't help.

@Neil-Bartlett I can't reproduce your issue. You shared a track and not a route in you last post. If shared as a route I have to see a begin- and a finishing viapoint (two hands) and in between some shapingpoint (drops). I can reproduce your track by only mark the begin and the endpoint. Could it be that you have some "avoid" options active? I don't think it's beta-related.
