Automatic skipping waypoints
-
I was really disappointed this weekend with the navigation next. the GPS system would not keep up with my location. and it was automatically deleting waypoints before I even got to them therefore re-routing my planned route to get to whatever waypoint it decided. Has anyone else had this problem. Very discouraging.

@Tad-Turner, The lag in the position is a problem already being worked on. The source of the problem lies withing the Here SDK and is not something that can be easily fixed without help of Here. The second problem you mention, seems new and rare. But it is mentioned by a few people. I am sure the MRA team will pick it up.

@Tad-Turner
I experience skipping waypoints from time to time. Not all... but in some cases around 10km prior waypoint, i get message "waypoint skipped".
I try using online and offline mode, but it seams thus not matter.
And as you said it is very disappointing. Then you need to stop, usually in unfamiliar environment, check route, revert waypoint. And that all is not straight forward.
In my professional opinion, app is still rough. And in beta state. Because many things have bugs. And that is normal for beta. Problem is that now is official standard release, but still bugs are there.
I do not care so much that im not able to sign up with my google account that was working on beta fine, but skipping waypoints with no reason, and app crashing... that is problem on trip. -
@Mario-Ivancic, luckily not many people have those problems with skipping waypoints. I would certainly not call it beta in that regard. The crashing some people experience are probably often linked to the phone getting too hot. Battery drainage is a problem for some users indeed. That problem is identified to source in the HERE platform. Unluckily not all companies are as quick and communicative like MRA...

True, if MRA is not so fast responding, we will not be her.
Also MRA as company get free testers, so it go's booth ways. Testing is expensive, especially for app like this that require field testing.
Anway, reason i say it is still beta, is that there is no trip more then 300km that i do not experience some issue. Sometimes, waypoint is skipped, sometimes, app crash, sometimes navigation stops responding, or something else. Do not get me wrong, i get it, i know iti is not simple to address all this things. So im still her.
But we must be honest, if there is some users that do not get bug free experience every time that they use app, then this is beta.
Also about crashes. Suggestion: Maybe MRA can implement auto save while navigating... so when app crashes, it will be back in last navigation moment. So that you do not need go true all of starting route and waypoints from begining.
Beacose, as you say sometimes overheating or other issues will crash app or even whole device. -
@Mario-Ivancic, I have been riding for three days last weekend, without any issues. It is ot beta just because some users experience problems. I experienced many more problems with my zumo, but I don't call that beta.
regarding your suggestion about auto-save, that is already reality. If the app crashes or gets closed by mistake, at restart it asks you if you want to resume tracking, and also if you want to resume your route from where it left off.
I am seriously questioning if you are using the correct app. Can you post the version number of the app?
