Offline Maps in new 'MyRoute-app' (Big Change Coming!)
-
Hi,
I understand that the new all-in-one App (I use Android) will be released mid-June .... which is just about when I set out on my big tour throughout Europe
Will the maps I have downloaded on the Beta version apply to the new MyRoute-app, or will I have to junk these and load the offline country maps again?
I'm only asking as the list of countries I have to pass through is quite extensive, and my home internet service is ..... very ...... slow.
Thanks once again ... and keep up the good work!
Cheers, Jem

@Jem-Cotton hahah, I like your question. Enjoy your trip!
The offline maps you downloaded in the Beta will be those that the final app will use You’re all set!
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I do see an update available once in a while when I visit "offline kaarten" now and again. But I guess those are not as big as the country's them selves? But the size probably depends on the countries you already have downloaded.
-
@Patrick-Roozen-0 that’s correct! Completely depends on the amount you have downloaded
Edit: managing the updates is something we will improve in another update
-
Phew ! I could see the two of us on the tour spending hours in hotels along the way trying to download maps for 15+ countries as we went along.
Thanks once again for your excellent help. Looking forward to giving the new MyRoute app something solid to do, and even more so to putting in some serious miles on my bike.
If we survive the experience, I'll pop you a note afterwards !
Cheers, Jem

@Jem-Cotton looking forward! Enjoy the ride

I have uninstalled a Nav app.
Now have only My Route app.How can I download a maps?
No such an option? -
Hi - Assuming you are using the MyRouteApp mobile (I use Android but will assume IOS is similar), choose the Menu (3 lines) then head for the Account section - top right, icon looks like a head in a circle.
From there you'll see an offline maps menu item and the rest is ... just downloading!
Good luck!
Jem
p.s. - I'm registered for the current Beta, and assume you've done the same.
