Joining a route not from start point

Today I joined the route not from the start but between points 3 and 4 at the red arrow. I was pointing in the car in the direction of point 4. I started the app and deleted points 1,2 and 3 expecting it to navigate me to 4 and onwards. Instead it navigated to point 31 which is towards the end of the route. Any thoughts on why? Note that this is a section of route that is used on the outward and return part of the route. Photo attached.

@Stephen-Howard that’s strange. It wouldn’t normally do that. Just long press the waypoint you want as start and off you go. Sounds like the wrong waypoint was pressed (as they seem to overlap).
So might be a user error?

@Corjan-Meijerink That is always possible! Although I tried it a few times being careful and I checked for that. The other strange thing is that the map screen didn’t show the road as if it didn’t know my location or something. However, when I opened the route originally it showed the route with my location correctly.
I can try it all again another day is it is close to home.
