Segments - how to activate?

I have seen some posts around route segments and watched a short video on this topic.
However I cannot see this in the toolbox drop down menu, do I need to do something first to activate this on my planned routes, heading to Austria soon and was looking to optimise some of the already planned routes with this functionality.Any help is appreciated or pointing me in the right direction, thanks in advance.

Hello John, segments only work when you use the OSM map, not the layer.
