Friends cannot open the new route I have designed without getting a notice pop up trying to coerce them into paying. Some have the existing MRA and will not proceed? How can I get the route to them and others so it can be viewed?

Beta routes can indeed not be shared with non beta users
Using the new platform for anyone is possible as of 15th of February.

How can I transfer my newly designed routes back into the original MRA?

Export as GPX and import there.
Another option is download as .mra and have them open that file with their app
