MRA AI Routeplanner credits

Perhaps it would be useful to prepare the most detailed prompt possible offline, so as to subsequently limit interactions with the AI?@Cleo

But the AI was only a check how it works. For now it works fine and it helps me to bring new indeas. I consinder to take it for a month.

@Cleo
I just wanted to share a thought of mine -
I've burned through the credits in a couple of hours with only two routes: a single-day route, which was just me messing about, and a 4-day tour into Northern France to do some Battlefield tour stuff. On Day 1, it seems to think the Euroshuttle is in Arras instead of Calais
But ok, I'll chalk it up to "teething problems".On a serious note, it seems the AI function is only really for special occasions, since 400 credits doesn't last long. Personally, I'm not a fan of monthly subscriptions and prefer an annual payment, so I'll reserve judgement on whether the AI function is worth it for me for now.
Overall, the update is superb; I enjoyed exploring it this morning.

It is certainly reasonable to pay a subscription fee for a service.
However, for me, this whole "credits" system is far too vague.
Am I to understand that these credits cover the time spent planning—for instance—14 walking routes and/or an 8-day trip? Or do you have unlimited time to refine the suggested selection?
Furthermore, are weather forecasts available only for routes created using these credits, or are they accessible whenever you travel along a route planned outside of the AI-based system?
The whole thing is rather complicated; it’s not entirely clear what one is actually signing up for.
It would be much better to simplify this offering.
Why not offer a monthly or annual subscription that allows for unrestricted, ongoing use, without all these limitations?
Thanks in advance. -
Based on the incredible AI usage today I've already been able to make some efficiency improvements.
I've refunded the credits of early users.
@benigni-jean-paul-0 Unrestricted usage is definitely not realistic
-
OK Corjan, I understand, BUT I have a chatgpt subcription for 23€ / month. And I've already worked with it on a complex trip. Certainly less efficient than your solution but isn't the bandwidth usage the same?
This isn't a criticism, but rather a question.
By the way, I’ve played for 4 hours with this new version, and I think the evolution is fantastic. Congratulations on the work! -

for me, this whole "credits" system is far too vague.Every business deploying AI is struggling with this question. AI is charged by use of "tokens" and it is very hard to see how many tokens a given task will consume. I'd therefore support MRA's use of credits as a way of containing the possible cost liability when users enter complex queries which use a lot of AI tokens behind the scenes.
You are right that it's hard to understand (until you use it enough) but that's the cost model that the AI industry is using so there isn't much choice.
(I've made a separate post about the overall cost and the bundled credits, which I do think needs some further reflection.)

A good addition would be to provide some sample AI prompts.
Creating a good prompt is necessary with all AI-tooling. So if you want to make the most out of your credits, you have to think upfront about the journey you’re going to create. -

As I write above, my ChatGpt subscription has no limit. I have already used ut intensively without a problem. Others, like Perplexity have limited queries.

I think that will change … currently they are trying to build a huge user base; but economic pressures are growing. Did you see the recent announcement that they are merging “chat” and “work” which may remove the distinction between unpaid (chat) and limit-based (work) usage?
