Version 5.0 - ‘Recalculating’ Stuck when 1 Bar Signal

I have had this problem with the previous versions when my iPhone is on low signal and a recalculation is needed for when I have gone off route or missed a waypoint (via or shaping). There have been some other threads mentioning this freezing of ‘recalculation’ with previous versions and there was some discussion about the automatic switch between online and offline maps. I thought I would wait to see what happens with this new version.
The sequence for me happens when my main data sim’s signal (I use dual sim) is on 1 bar and a recalculation is needed for having missed a waypoint or I have deviated from the route. ‘Recalculating’ is shown in the directions box and remains there if the signal does not improve for a period of time. I am not able to say how long this period exactly is but after a long period of about 30 secs or more, there is no change to ‘recalculating’ even if the signal improves - route line is still displayed. I am using CarPlay so my resolution is to exit the navigation and then resume the navigation from the prompt box. The directions etc then appear straight away.
Not able to provide any screenshots/recordings due to using CarPlay and the phone being away in the bike’s charging pocket. Also not able to see what is happening on my iPhone for this same reason.
