NO VOICE PROMPTS
-
And you can easily test your audio by pressing the
️ button to the right of “Audio” on the screenshot of @Hubert-Thoring. -
Thank you for the comments.I have uninstalled and re installed the app. I have created a new route, I checked the audio as suggested by pressing the the triangle top right and I got the voice I had chosen.
I have just returned from the route this morning No voice prompt, No audible speed camera warning! Between creating the route and checking the audio I have changed nothing. Why no Prompts???? -
I have never heard a complaint like this before. Are you using audio from your phone, or though a BT connection or anything? If the latter, I must assume it's in your BT connection. If you are using audio from your phones own speaker, try to turn off BT. You would not be the first that has a BT connection to something with without even knowing it.

Audio from the phone. I'm not quite sure what you mean by BT connection, if you mean internet then I do not have an internet connection when on the road but many times the voice prompts work without internet then for no apparent reason they fail. I have tried restarting the phone and I have tried restarting the app, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!

BT = Bluetooth

Not using Bluetooth.

Not using Bluetooth.
@ferrand24gmail.com, okay then we can that rule out. It is still interesting to try with BT turned off on your phone. I have seen someone claiming to use no BT, but his phone auto-connected to a muted BT device under certain circumstances
. Of course you can check the BT icon on your phone, but many people don't look or lack eyesight
What could be interesting to test is in a case where you do not get any audible instructions, open the audio settings and press the
️ button like @CD130 suggests above. Do you or do you not hear the test instruction then, and check the slider for volume of course. -
I'll try that.

Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was indeed Bluetooth. Created a route, checked the audio at home all good. Got into the car, no voice prompts, turned bluetooth off, voila! voice prompts working.
Interestingly, I turned BT on again and the voice prompts continued to work until I paired the phone with the car and once again they stopped.
It's good to have discovered what the problem is because I found it very frustrating to have the voice prompts working, seemingly at random. The problem now is that with BT off I can no longer have hands free calls. Could there be a way around that? -
It may be that your BT volume is set to zero. This volume is independent of the radio/Carsystem and must be adjusted separately.
Establish a connection and play an announcement on the phone via the audio settings, then turn up the volume on the radio/carsystem. -

With your BT connected, enter you phone's volume settings and up the media volume. Likely that is currently set to zero.
