Compass not moving

I noticed a couple of minor issues today:

1. The compass does not indicate North in Dynamic camera mode. It just seems to point in a random direction. I'm not sure if it works in Top Down either.
2. I tried to pause tracking while I was moving. Initially the track indicator turns Orange but then quickly turns back to green. The only way to stop tracking is to save or delete the current track log.
3. When I come to a stop, the navigation app seems to lose its direction and the map starts rotating around like it can't find a direction. This can be an issue when trying leave after a stop but your not sure which direction you should be headed. If you are stopped, the app should also "stop" until you begin moving again.

1. @CD130 is right, this has always been the case, In Dynamic mode the compass needle is replaced by an arrow, just pointing in your driving direction (which is fixed).

2. The tracklog will be auto-resumed if movement is detected.

3. This happens sometimes yes. Direction is extracted from GPS data. While standing still, there often is not enough flow in data to offer a steady direction. Many apps and dedicated devices have the same "problem".

1. So the "compass" never actually functions as a compass???
2. Seems counter intuitive if I manually pause the tracklog and the app just resumes it again.
3. Would be nice if it didn't go nuts when stopped.

1. yes it does, in all modes except Dynamic mode. In dynamic mode the compass symbol changes to an indicator for showing it is in dynamic mode.

While riding yesterday I confirmed that the compass always points up in North up mode, points in a random direction in top down mode and also in dynamic mode. So I guess it never works as a compass. I would like to see it work as a compass in top down and dynamic mode.

@RetiredWingMan, that's not true. In top-down mode the compass needle indicates the North of the map, as it should. It is not random, it rotates with the north on the map. In Dynamic mode it indeed is true, but the thought is that in dynamic mode north is not really an interesting parameter because you actually do not use it for navigating in that mode. Maybe it could be made rotating just like the top-down mode, but I don't think that it would receive high priority. Would be neat though.
