Starting Navigation - Routes with closest Start Time at top of list
-
One thing I’m missing from my old Garmin days, is the feature whereby when you choose to start navigating, at the top of the list of routes you see the route with a start time closest to the current date/time.
I always add a start date and time to my routes. When I used to use a Garmin, the top of the list of routes showed the route that was closest to the current date/time, with all the other routes below as normal.
This is something I’d like to see in MRA. That would mean that I could keep my routes organised neatly in folders, but wouldn’t have to go clicking through them when looking for the day’s route. It’s great on a multi-day tour, or even a day with multiple routes, as the route you needs is the one that’s right there when you browse.
An alternative, for me, would be to replace “last route” with “up next” (or offer the option to do so). I’ve never used the “last route” feature, as I’m never quite sure which the last route I looked at was.
It’s not earth shattering, and people will probably say that it’s not for them for one reason or another, but for me it’s these little simple things that make an end user’s experience go from good to great. “Click reduction” in user interfaces is a valid thing and definitely worth looking into. I’m all for putting the information that the user needs next right in front of them, rather than them having to go find it.

@Dae-0, I usually number my multiple day routes and organize them in separate folders. But nevertheless I think your suggestion would make a nice addition to the sorting options.
