Ability to add a .gpx file of Speed Cameras into MyRoute-App
-
Can I add a .gpx file of Speed Cameras to MyRoute App ?
I have a .gpx file of all speed camera locations, including mobile, specs etc which are reported by members of the group.
Can I load this .gpx file to show these locations in MyRoute-App ?
I know I can add the as POI’s but I have to select them each time I plan a route - ideally I would like these locations to be visible fully over the map at all times.
Is this possible like it is with the Garmin / TomTom etc ? -
@Martin-White Good suggestion
Complete visibility of POI libraries by default is a suggestion we wish to implement in the slightly near future! -
Hi Corjan,
That’s great news to hear.
Do you have a timescale for when this will be added please ? -
@Martin-White Hope somewhere this week!

Hi Corona,
On the topic of .GPX speed camera positions, did this get implemented ?
I can add my own POI’s and give them their own symbol (which is great), but I do not know how to make them always visible on the map both whilst planning (web and App) and when using the navigation.
I currently do this on my Garmin XT2 but want to use MyRoute App exclusively for my navigation and planning.
Is this possible please ? -
@Martin-White That's an awkward typo
You can make POI's visible for routes (or even all routes). But then you still need to load that route while navigating. You won't however receive a warning as if it's a speed trap.

@Corjan-Meijerink
Apologies Corjan, auto-correct got me and no proof read !Thanks for your reply - how do I make them visible for all routes please ?
-
@Martin-White in the POI library, you can either check the checkbox or click on the account icon to activate it account wide.
Use the last mentioned

@Corjan-Meijerink
Hi Corjan,Thank you for your support, I have done as you said and I can now see them all in the Route Lab.
My final question, are these POI’s that I’ve made visible in the Route Lab able to be seen when I plan a route in the Navigation App, do a quick point to point route in the Navigation App, or just use the App for the map whilst riding?
Thanks again and enjoy your holiday!

@Martin-White Great!
No, you won't see the POI's when planning in the app. Maybe in the future!You'll only see them when opening / viewing / navigating a route loaded from MRA.

A cheeky aside, Martin - is this a public GPX file? If so, would you be happy to share the source?
Thanks in advance.

@richtea999
Hi,The .GPX file I use is from “Pocketgps.com”
It’s a paid subscription ~£20 a year, and they update the locations of cameras (Gastso, Specs, Red-Light and Mobile units) every week.
Users also submit sites to continually provide up to date locations.
Unfortunately I cannot provide the .GPX file as they embed a script which tells them if it’s shared with anyone - sorry ! -
@Martin-White Ah, yes! I know of them from a couple of friends, but I had forgotten. Again.
They rate PocketGPS as an excellent source.Thanks for confirming.
