What is the point of Off-road mode ?
-
I want to ride some of the TET. I’ve used ‘off-road’ mode in MRA and using OSM mapping can plan a route , following a dirt road/track by adding numerous waypoints .
But when I try navigate using MRA, it tries to route you via the nearest road to each waypoint , even with off-road selected . So what is the point of off-road if you can’t actually navigate and such route planned ?
For example, I planned this simple route following a track that starts at waypoint 3 and runs to waypoint 6.
But when I tried to navigate the route, this happened
Waypoint 4 has completely disappeared and instead of turning left at waypoint 3, MRA has recalculated to stay on road and take me as close as possible to waypoint 5 and 6.
Very annoying !

That's frustrating! It seems like MRA's off-road mode isn't quite delivering the expected navigation on dirt tracks. Have you tried adjusting your waypoints?

The active navigation will always attempt to send you over existing roads. The offroad feature is for planning and it enables you to simply follow the line
Not ideal but choices have to made regarding what features to develop

Thanks for reply. But how do you follow the line if all the straight lines disappear as soon as you try to navigate, with the app trying to reroute you via existing roads ?

@M-Gaudion-0 don't start the navigation
Just open the route in the map -
Ah yes . Thanks

@M-Gaudion-0 Maybe ride it as a track and not a route?

I have all the TET Routes as Tracklogs for most of the European Countries (Including the UK) and many of the UK Green Lanes also.
Heres the link to them all.
They are all Public.https://www.myrouteapp.com/profile/tracks/1226406#-1
Remember these are Tracklogs, so you simply just follow the Route Line.
There are no Voice Prompts. -
And just to clarify further, you will also need to Download the Maps and the Tracklogs.
