Alps route recommendation please - Stelvio to Grossglockner
-
I am not sure where to post a request like this. There does not seem to be an area for members to discuss routes and planning. Am I missing something? If there is one, please move this post to the appropriate forum.
So, I am planning another driving trip across the Alps, west to east and back. I need some recommendations for interesting routes between Stelvio and roughly Cortina d'Ampezzo area, heading for Grossglockner.
Last year I went through Stelvio, headed for Bolzano (main roads), then across country to Cortina on The Great Dolomites Road. This was both great and very tedious. I think it took me about 3 hours from Bolzano and included what felt like 300 endless hairpin turns.
The last 30-40 mins from Arabba down to Cortina was brilliant, but the previous 2.5 hrs was just too much.
So, I am looking for recommendations, either heading north east or south east from Stelvio and ending up at Grossglockner.
Are there any local experts here, or people who have done similar trips and found good routes?
Thank you,
Tom -
I have been looking through the route library, but there is nothing specifically for this route, hence the question!

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master Thanks Hans. I had already seen your Davos route, which I am planning to include!
Do you know of any good routes from Stelvio to Bolzano?
