change road type after starting navigation
-
why is there no possibility to change the road type after starting the navigation?
-
@Lisi-Mayr can you give us some more details? What do you mean?
-
@Rob-Verhoeff
sorry for the less information. I mean these settings
I can choose before starting navigation but I'm not able to change while navigating -
@Lisi-Mayr that has been a deliberate choice
We believe that once you start driving the planned / selected route, there is no real need to change the settings. There have been some similar requests like this but in general I feel no urgent need to change the current behavior.

@Lisi-Mayr, to elaborate on Corjan's reply: Especially on multi WP routes like yours, making different choices in the navigational settings would cause your carefully planned route to be completely messed up. For direct routes I can understand the wish for making changes indeed, but MRA is more or less dedicated to scenic routes along multiple waypoints. The alternative is to restart (not resume) the route, so you can change those parameters indeed.

would still be nice to have this function
you have to open menu - stop navigation - confirm it - close with [x]
click on last route - navigate - swipe settings to top - select or deselect the different types
there are many steps for just the need "I do not want to use motorways from now on" -
I would like to have at least the option to change between highway or prevent highway. I sometimes change my mind when on tour.
-
@Jörgen, yes, but that is only relevant for AtoB routes, not for carefully planned scenic tours.

I have some wishes too, but never such a request or a need.
As noted planned route don‘t need such request.
I plan now for about 20 years routes at beautilful countrysides for tours with my cabrio. In France, Italy Germany, never got a problem when shapingpoints are set in a manner that the routing engine prevent the use of highways. I know, of lot of riders are not with me to set shapingpoints as Viapoints or on Garmins waypoints with alarm, which in result is a pont you need to hit on your route. The argument with deviations and problems that the rout will direct you in the deviation is in my point of view and the experience in those 20 years overated. Traffic jams beside highways in the countryside are as well so seldom like road constructions. An if you are on the wrog date on a route like from Füssen to lake Garda you have not so much options to ride and you are in traffic trouble on each of this options.I habe best experience with sharp shapingpoints or WP with Alarm and today a make a mix to control my route.
For an A - B direkt routing the usual default is quickest route, that means highways are included if not declinded by settings.
That a driver wants to change such defaults during the ride forward and back is I believe rare and need anyway recalculation. For such seldom request a stop at a parking lot I assume is always necessary because i believe the rider wants the check on the map how such change of the setting effect the route. May you have to drive 15 km back to reach next highway entry, or you have to different highways nearby and and..
the results may not satisfy.Do you know another App or SatNav on which you can change the settings like you want without a stop?
