EXPORT GPX FOR ZUMO XT 1.0
-
I would like to give my contribution to anyone who has a Garmin Zumo XT. If I program an itinerary on the computer and then save it as gpx and send it to the Zumo XT the following things happen: if I save the gpx in 1.1 format and I am in a different position from the start, the Zumo only gives me 3 choices ( departure waypoint, nearest waypoint, arrival waipoint). If I choose the closest waypoint, if it is several kilometers away it does not calculate and gives me an error. If I save as gpx 1.2 I have the situation similar to gpx 1.1 but I haven't delved into it much. If I save in gpx 1.0 format the Zumo XT, when choosing which waypoint to start from, gives me the complete list of waypoints and not just 3 as in the 1.1 format. This is for me the best solution so I can choose where to start the journey

Hi @Giuseppe-Marino We recommend gpx 1.1 or gpx 1.2 for use in the XT. If you are not at the starting point of the route, you can drive to the starting point.
The gpx 1.2 is a route (route track) with via points (hands), so that you only see the via points (flags) on your screen. When using the gpx 1.2, disable the recalculation.
You are of course free to use the gpx 1.0, but this is more intended for the older Zumos. -
I am afraid for me Does not work either way. If I use the export tool to my Garmin Zumo XT. Does not shows any waypont apart of Start and finish points. Not sure what I am doing wrong. In the Zumo ask me to import the file and nothing else. If I try to add any Garmin view point erase the whole trip. Transform the trip only from the starting point to the new viewpoint created. Very dissapointed.

After import the file, look at journey’s there is the route

I share the same opinion. When I plan a route, I want to know the distance, eta, etc from waypoint to waypoint (hands). The Zumo has this great functionality but when I export the route as gpx 1.1, I only get the track from start to finish. This is frustrating as the Zumo XT will not alert me when I am getting to a planned stop or a gas station I have specifically added. I have not tried using gpx 1.0, but if it allows me to use the XT as it was made to be used, then that will become my default file format.

I think you are using the track instead of the route
