3D / birdseye view
-
I have been driving a few A to B routes last weekend using Next. I see very frequently the 3D view switching with the birdseye view and vice versa. And not always (mostly not!) at logical places. What is the thought behind zooming in and out of the map, based on velocity and / or proximity of navigational changed?

@Con-Hennekens This is determined automatically by HERE. We do not intervene with their dynamic zooming at this point.
The zoom level / tilt is determined by multiple factors including current velocity and distance to upcoming maneuvers.

@Corjan-Meijerink, Thanks. I thought is was a little bit frantic to watch. Indeed I see that for example driving towards a roundabout the tilt goes lower, revealing the 3D structures, but immediately after leaving the roundabout (er even slightly before that) the view jumps back to birdseye view, despite a velocity close to nothing. Driving on highways, sometimes it looks like it doesn't know whether to show tilted or birdseye view, and it flips every now and then.
