Format sound Bluetooth
-
Hi from France,
I would like to know what is the format of sound by bluetooth because I would used MRA Navigation Next with my motor bike and my Helmet and if I want keep the communication with my passenger. For that the sound format must be output smartphone communication and not music.
I don't found how manage this point inside MRA Navigation Next,
Can you help me ? -
MRA uses the default media channel of your phone. Mostly the A2DP profile is used.
The profile does not matter that much. Bigger question is: "How does headset and/or phone handle switching between bluetooth channels when they are both active"Look in the settings of your headset if there is an option where you can enable the use of 2 bluetooth channels simulanteous. This is a powerful option which can solve some bluetooth connection issues.
-
@M-Schrijver In fact the problem is the priority of communication because if MRA use the same profil that smartphone communication MRAwill be prioritary and I will hear the GPS message when the communication with my passenger is active.
For exambple with Kurviger and Cruiser it's possible to choice the communication canal. (A2DP or Phone)I hope that my explanation are clear for you
-
The profile does not affect this. This is programmed in the software of the headset
What brand and model headset do you use?
-
@M-Schrijver
Thank a lot for your contributions
I use SENA SMH05FM
And for example I can't use Google Map or Waze beacause when the communication is open between my wyfe and me I can't received message from these applications -
According to the manual. Intercom should be interrupted by a mobile phone.
Try pairing your Phone as a GPS device with A2DP profile. Which is probably the default profile.

@M-Schrijver
Ok I will test next week -
@Jacquet-2 I found it depends on which device I connect first, I usually connect my SatNav first then my phone for voice, I I would ensure the BT con phone is connected to headset before opening Navigation Next
-
I tried different solutions without success because I either have the intercom between our two helmets or the navigation information.
An example with Cruiser who manage exit
Perhaps the new generation of Sena manage this functionnality ?
-
@jclaudejIn fact if you have an intercom with "audio multitask" you haven't a problem but with a basic or old intercom this functionality is not possible
-
@jclaudej
That function is not available on his headset. But it is the solution.
The Sena Spider could be a good budget friendly replacement. Which has Mesh intercom and Audio Multitasking -
@jclaudej i would install cardo edge on youre helmet. You can communicate with youre duo and connect to two devices, phone and gps..
-
@Lei-Lodiers Hi, thank you for your contribution but I have a bad experience with Cardo especialy with the SAV of this company and I prefer choice ร Sena product who help these after the warranty.
I think to buy Sena SF4 duo. -
@jclaudej hi I have no experience with sena. We use cardo edge sometimes with a group of 15 bikers and it works flawless. With communication and navigation. Don't now how sena works.... Hope you can answer this in the future...
-
Sena and Cardo have very simliar functionality in the same price range. But both brands cannot mix with eachother
-
@jclaudej
Please do not buy the SF4.
The Spider has mesh for nearly the same price as the SF4.
Take my word. Mesh is the prefered choice for intercom. Even with 2 persons -
@M-Schrijver I use intercom only with my wife who is behind me so mesh isn't necessary for us.
-
Mesh is a part of your solution.
Mesh is advertised as THE intercom for groups. But it is also the better one for two persons compared to Bluetooth intercom.Therefore the advice.
When you buy a new intercom, ALWAYS buy one with mesh. -
Hi,
I solved my problem with a new Sena Spider ST1
