Feature suggestion - Search and display without adding a Waypoint

When planning a route it is often necessary to find specific places on the map for orientation purposes. Currently clicking on a search result automatically adds a waypoint which then needs to be deleted manually. I would welcome an option to find places on the map without adding a waypoint. Perhaps this can be achieved by holding down a specific key (i.e. ALT or Control) while clicking the search result.
