Offline map freezing

A repeated problem using offline maps (they have been downloaded for offline use).
The navigation starts OK but after about 5/10 minutes the map freezes, the spoken instructions continue as does the count down to the next turning. After say, 10 minutes the map will all of a sudden catch up and continue to work correctly. However, today after a 45 min pause and a phone call the map froze again and failed to work for the rest of the trip although the voice instructions continued accurately. -

But I had not linked it to the use of offline maps yet. Could well be indeed!
