Question regarding how road closures are handled in MRA NN version 5.2

The rerouting options introduced in version 5.2 for dealing with sudden road closures are, for me personally, an extremely important feature.
However, I am not yet sure which of the three options I should choose and what the associated behaviour is.

My most common scenario is:
I am following a route on the motorway. Suddenly, I come across a closure on a motorway exit that I was supposed to take to join the next motorway. No immediate shaping or via points have been set for this section.

Which of the three options should I choose?

Preferred outcome:
I simply want to be guided back onto the route. Any shaping points or waypoints set further along the route in the near can be ignored. The main thing is that I am guided back onto the route without having to rely on my – non-existent – sense of direction and without being rerouted, as has happened in the past.

Please bear in mind that this scenario takes place on a motorway and you are not allowed to stop to adjust any settings.

A clarification of the three alternatives and a step-by-step description of the necessary button presses would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I would like to ask whether selecting one of the three methods and button sequences also works with an Apple CarPlay device.

In your scenario you would best not fiddle with the new feature, but skip to one or more route points to you liking. The answer to your last question is "no" (not yet anyway).
