Black screen at low speeds
-
iPhone 11P, ver. 16.2; MRA 3.2.6 - 147. I think someone mentioned that issue before; I discovered it today on my ride.
First, I did not see it happening when navigating a route.
Second, I did not see it happening when riding using 2D view.
Third, this happened to me only when I was tracking my location (recording and not recording) using 3D view. When I was slowing down to below about 20 mph, the screen was turning black, and returning back when I picked up the speed above about 20 mph.
I thought about the zoom; in 2D there is no zoom-in on the map when you slow down at the intersection, etc. so the screen works fine. In 3D, the map is zoomed-in when you slow down, and that's when the black screen shows up.
So, when I was stationary, I have zoomed in on the map manually and voila, the screen turns black every time you reach certain level of zoom-in no matter if it is 2D or 3D view. -
@UltraStar Thanks for reporting! I can indeed confirm that this is a issue I did not yet know about
Based on my observation you must be using the non-vector maps or the satellite image map. Please select a 3D map layer to allow a higher zoom level. I'll make sure this issue will be fixed in the next Beta update.

@Corjan-Meijerink Now you got me. How to check what type of the maps am I using? Is there a place to select the type of maps?
I just start the application and go with the flow. -
@Corjan-Meijerink Well, I think I get what are you saying. I never payed attention to the 3D selection on the map layers screen. When I clicked on the 3D selection, the black screen does not happen.
Thank you. -

@Steve-Lynch I got that. Thank you.

Happy to hear you found the more detailed premium maps Still, the issue will be fixed! Thanks a lot for sharing

@Corjan-Meijerink Thanks Corjan. I have assumed that HERE is a default map selected for the navigation from the beginning. How many definitions of "assumption" do you know...
The Next is coming along really nicely. -
@UltraStar Hahah, indeed. Happy to hear you are enjoying the Beta.
When using the actual turn-by-turn navigation, there is only one map available and that is HERE
