'Kronkelroutes' in in-app routeplanner in iOS app? (in other words; roundtrip creation based on two locations)
-
Hi all,
I'm a big fan of My Route app and using it for a long time. Since last year, I ditched my TomTom and using MyrouteApp-navigation as well on my carplay device on my GS.
I normally plan routes on my PC when I'm doing day trips from home. However, when we're having a motorbike weekend, I would like to create routes on my iPhone in the app instead of using a pc. I know how to use the in-app routeplanner and the options there, but I cannot find an option that I had (and love) on my TomTom where you can easily create a round-trip from point A to point B to point A. This is possible, however, it's only with avoiding highways and other settings, but not so much curly (kronkel) options and a way to avoid the roads you already used in the round trip.
Am i correct assuming that this is not available (yet) in the in-app Route planner? Or am I missing something?
Many thanks and all the best from Hulten, Brabant!

@Marijn-Laming Thanks for asking!
This is indeed not possibleThe in-app routeplanner offers full offline support and the scenic routing is something we only support online in the OSM map. The in-app planner is in HERE (and fully available offline).

Hi @Corjan-Meijerink, Thanks for your swift reply!
Aaah, that's very unfortunate! I hoped that i was missing something. Are there any plans to build this in (whether or not it is needed to add multiple maps in the in-app route planner)? If it is not planned, can I log this as a feature request?
For the time being, is there a workaround for this? or do I need to use the TomTom app to create a scenic route and then load it in the MRA Navigation app?
Thanks!

@Marijn-Laming not quite the same but you can plan a curvy route to B and then once you arrive at B you can quickly plan a curvy route back to A.

@RetiredWingMan Thanks for your contribution. My experience with that is that it;s only avoiding high-ways but not so much going for the Curly routes I’m used to with TomTom. Also, it’s going to send you the same way back if you’re not adding a via point…
