Is this a HERE feature?
-
I am sorry to show off a competitor but....
We want this too!
- OnRoute map like roads often used in routes
- the green roads on the Michelin maps
-
@Con-Hennekens no sorry, that isn’t possible with HERE We do use our own routegenerator to create cool routes which can be navigated using track navigation. I know you are aware of this but just clarifying
-
@Corjan-Meijerink, I was hoping, against beter judgement, that HERE would have added Michelin green road data to their map . Garmin seems to have found a source. I don't know if Michelin sells it, but if so it would probably be available in more software brands. As far as I know Garmin is the first.
I am not saying the exisiting MRA route generator is doing a bad job, on the contrary. But it would be sooo satisfying if, like "avoid highway" or "use curvy roads" we could use "prefer green roads", because those are proven beautiful scenery. Everything else is a gamble. It would also work great in the planner.

@Con-Hennekens I totally agree
-
In the UK those Green Lined Michelin Roads are very often Major A Roads as shown below.
Many of these are actually Dual Carriageways.
Not for me thanks! My preferred roads types are shown below.
Perfect for a Tiger!

@Con-Hennekens yesterday evening I saw Mr.GPS's latest videos on YouTube regarding the Garmin XT2. The features overview of their new Garmin device show these eexact like features. The XT2 can calculate in advance a route over Michelin green roads. Perhaps Here does kow them but yet does not provide them to the customer? @Corjan-Meijerink ?
*Edit: oops, I simply assumed HERE maps originates from Garmin, but based upon the posts form you guys, I seem to be mistaken here?

@Lynchy67 OMG I'm searching how I can see these views (looks like google street view) also ... I can't find it .... can you tell me how you do that please?
-
I can't remember if this is a Gold Only feature.
Click the Icon on the Left.
Click any of the blue lines to see the Street View.

Yes, that's where I stole this from

@Steve-Lynch Thank you very much, much appreciated !! Happy ....

@Lynchy67 I fully agree with you. Very often the green Michelin roads are good for cars, but not for motorbikes. At least, I prefer the smaller roads.
