Fuel updates.

OK please forgive me if this post is in the wrong section, or maybe shouldn't even be asked on this forum. If so please delete and accept my apologies.
If however it's ok, then here's my question. As MRA is used by many people across the world, and maybe more in Europe, with the current situation in the middle east, we are all aware of the petrol and diesel situation in our respective countries. Would it be possible for people to give updates as to the availability of fuel in their respective countries, and maybe post updates here, as I'm sure people have got plans for touring Europe and beyond ( I know I have ) and would like to be able to access reliable information, rather than rely on one news channel against another.
I've been checking the availability of fuel in France and Germany, and one says its OK, and others say it's not. So getting information from people on the ground, seems like a good idea, that would help us all. Again apologies if this isn't the sort of question that should be asked. -

Won't you end up with the same situation if everyone posts updates about fuel statuses in their neighborhood? This also depends on the accuracy of the status someone posts and when it is posted.
For example: someone fills up early in the morning, drives on for the rest of the day, and arrives at a hotel late in the afternoon. In his room, this person posts a status update stating that there is still plenty of fuel at the gas station where he refueled in the morning and that a reasonably cheap price per liter is being charged compared to other gas stations in the area.
Is this information still accurate if that person posts it late in the afternoon knowing this person filled his tank in the morning? I don't think so. In the meantime, much may have changed: a dwindling fuel supply causing the price per liter to rise, delivery of new fuel delayed, etc.

I understand your idea, but i don't think it is really feasible. All those status updates must be checked by someone for accuracy. And that would be like a dayjob.
I think for now best is to rely on the news channels and websites of the (local) fuel suppliers what the latest status is.
And just read 1 or 2 news channels, not the whole bunch! My idea is, if 1 or 2 news channels are posting the same news regarding fuel supplies, rising fuel prices or fuel restrictions or whatever, the rest of all the news channels will post the same news.
Just curious, which countries are you the most worried about regarding fuel prices, fuel availability?

Hi, there is actually no discussion in German (and as far as I know in middle Europe) about problems with the gasoline supply. If problems in the Middle East persist, prices will continue to rise for the time being. Right now, the price in Germany is around €2 per liter.
Furthermore, we import only a small percentage of our supply from the Middle East 6.1%. (see image)
All we hear about are kerosene prices for air travel, especially during the summer travel season. There is talk of shortages and higher prices.

Must be my age.I haven't read any bad news about Germany and France.
In fact, Germany is even lowering the excise duties on fuels to lower the prices.
And beside that, the fuel producing countries are going to work more closer to avoid any fuel shortages (until the crude oil reserves are completely used).
I won't worry that much. Best is to keep updated about fuel prices and fuel availability day by day.

I guess there are Apps and websites for every country in Europe where you can check the prices. Availability may not be given, but if a station is out of service, most likely it will not show any prices.

There is an app for that, it is called "Fuel Flash" (blue tantstationsign on a yellow background), it covers most of the European countries and others will come to it (Danmark is recently added). The app shows, if a station is open or not and what the actual fuel prices are. You can show it as a list or on a map. You can also directly make route to the station you like most.They are very accurated. I am using it on my way through Spain and Portugal.

No problem for now with fuel in Germany and over here in The Netherlands, only the price differences.
Germany has dynamic prices and they change in the day, here at the border the cheapes time to get your tank filled up is in the evening, prices can change more then € 0,30 at the same fuel station in the day.Differences between countries in Europe are also big as every country has its own taxes, for example here in The Netherlands de prices are around €0,50 a Liter higher as in Germany.
Get an App like the one found at https://ich-tanke.de/karte on your Phone for Germany as the prices in one city can be very different also. -

Keep in mind that you need a motorway vignette and environmental sticker depending on whete you are going when you go to Switzerland

Just did a trst with that app:
- Could not find my location manually
- Using Location (GPS phone) i think it worked (not sure)
- Even after setting the to 15km it showed just 1 fuel station while there are several in a range of 5 km from where i live
Don't know if these issues are also popping up in other places/countries.
But beside that, i remove the app because when plotting a route a check prices at fuel stations at that moment and when i go out driving i see what it costs.
Doing a tour, prices at fuel stations is the last thing on my mind.
