Navigation wanted to ignore waypoint
-
Created a long route. Half way around I created a waypoint (not shaping point) for a cafe I wanted to visit.
The route comes out on a road with a T junction, the cafe is up the road about a mile to the right, but after I visit the cafe the route comes back down this road to the same point but carries on. So the route passes the same point twice. Thing is when I got to the T junction the navigator wanted me to turn left not right, skipping the waypoint. Granted turning left would have finished the route earlier but I would have missed lunch!

@Michael-Rhys Can you post the route here so that we can look at it? Just make sure the route is public before you share the link here.

Nice route!
Does the 'via' point 39 (which shouldn't be skipped) being out of reach - i.e. off the black track - upset things?
-
@richtea999 my thoughts too...

@Michael-Rhys it sounds like the app did not register your visit VP39. When you got back to the T junction MRA wanted to find a route back to the viapoint. I've run into this several times and find that I have to skip the viapoint manually. I now double check everytime I visit a viapoint.

@Doug-Robinson. VP is on a road but that said that is not where it was going wrong. It went wrong on the road just below shaping point 41
-
@Rob-Verhoeff it shouldn’t because it should still go to shaping point 38. If you look at the route it is the road just below sp 41 where it wanted me to turn left not right. So in effect it was skipping sp 37-41 inclusive and VP 39
-
@Michael-Rhys actually the VP is not on the road. If MRA did not register your visit to the VP then the VP will still be shown at the top right corner of your screen (if the option for next WP is turned on). The reason MRA seems to mess up at WP41 is probably because that was it's first opportunity to try and route you back to WP39.

@Doug-Robinson I can try that, but why did it ignore shaping points 37-41 any one of those should have prompted a right turn instead it wanted to go left. However when I made the right turn then it sorted itself out. Routing me correctly to WP 39 (should have mentioned that in first post). If I had not had someone with a tomtom saying it says go right., we would have missed the turning. Interestingly enough a Garmin in the group also wanted to turn left rather than right

@Michael-Rhys I went back and read your original post again. I misread it the first time. I though the error was after lunch ... not before. Can't say why you were not properly directed to the VP. Very strange.
