Routes Not Loading

@Chris-English you have to have the link here please
-
@Marinus-van-Deudekom Sorry, all new to me. Here's the link: https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/8056805?mode=share

@Chris-English I see that you have way to little waypoints in your route and on top of that one of them is in the middle of water (I don't know if there's a ferry over there)
if you add more waypoint I think your problem is solverd -
@Marinus-van-Deudekom Understood. Three items: 1) How do you think I should do that when the actual Route will not load? 2) All my routes were working correctly yesterday but are not today, so what happened? 3) Yes, there is a ferry for the water crossing, so how do you want me to change that?
This may be a dumb question, but why are other users experiencing the same issue as me, and their routes were also working previously, but are not now? Did you guys do a release?

Same here with Standaard (OpenStreetMap). When I choose for TomTom, the route is calculated and displayed.
-
@Chris-English put in a support ticket and maybe they can help you.
It is odd that it worked fine and suddenly not anymore -
Same for flipping to HERE - that also works. Just select HERE or TomTom whilst its still spinning.
Personally, I'd avoid OSM for actual routing and use whatever your device uses i.e. TomTom or HERE/Garmin. OSM is OK for looking at the map layer for features, places, etc, though.
Waypoint 4 - for the ferry - seems not to be needed in HERE and TomTom. With it removed, both still route across the water correctly.
Waypoint 5 could also be placed slightly more accurately otherwise you go up an unecessary road.
And on HERE there's some odd routing down by waypoint 8, where HERE doesn't seem to have such good road info as TomTom.
If you have Gold it's worth comparing the different generated routes for oddities like these.
As for what's changed, who knows? Maybe the devs have updated the OSM routing?

@richtea999 Hey richtea999, thank you! I did everything EXACTLY as you suggested, and it all worked! This is huge lesson learned. I hope others will also read your post. Thank you again, much appreciated.

@Chris-English No problem! Glad it worked.
The other thing to note is that OSM was struggling with so few waypoints over a long distance. That's because it can give the route calculation engine too many options to try and work out the 'best' route. Adding a few more waypoints cuts down the calculations needed and may also have solved the problem.
Having said that, I've dropped a pin in the UK and a second one in South France and its been fine. Software - it's a mystery... -
OSM issues have been fixed!
-
@Chris-English if you are a paying (Gold) user, you also have HERE & TomTom which will have 0 downtime
-
@Corjan-Meijerink WOW, didn't know there were OSM issues, but actually experienced them. Thank for the HERE and TomTom advise also. @richtea999, I will stick with your advice for now.
Thank you all, have great Sunday, as we now prepare for Hillary-the-hurricane here in Las Vegas!
