@nick-carthew said in Alternative routes navigation app:

@arjan-de-vries As far as I know, no navigation device offers alternative routes while navigating.

I have never seen alternative routes in MRA Navigation.
It would not make any sense, besides A to B navigation.
A screenshot would be nice indeed!

@timo-martosatiman-mra, I am glad you are commenting in the forum again. MRA representatives seemed to be absent for a while. I am glad you are back!

    • RE: Screen Rotation using MRA Navigation

I think the landscapemode deserves some more attention indeed. I really prefer landscape, but the layout of the Navigation screen makes that virtually impossible. In landscape mode route information and buttons should be replaced to one side of the screen. Hopefully Navigation Next wil bring some relief there too.

    • RE: How do i transfer route from the MRA planner to MRA navigation

@bouke-ent said in How do i transfer route from the MRA planner to MRA navigation:

... before you go always make small change and route will be up in list.

Indeed, and clicking "Edit" (the pencil) and then "Save" without actually changing anything, suffices.

    • RE: Screen Rotation using MRA Navigation

The landing page with the six buttons actually DOES rotate on an Android device.
Pity is only that you have to scroll to make the lower buttons visible.

@timo-martosatiman-mra, I am not really affected by the update, but I must say this quick response is great!

    • RE: New MRA Mobile app

@herko-ter-horst, I agree, and like you I rarely use the app indeed. The most meaningful function is likely the roundtrip generator, that would better have been integrated in the navigation app anyway. On the other side, how hard can it be for the mobile app to show the MRA website in an embedded window inside the app? That would be a nicer solution then to tell users to use the browser. But I am probably overlooking some plausible reasons.

@herko-ter-horst said in New MRA Mobile app:

@con-hennekens With the latest update, there is no more 'planning' functionality in the mobile app, so calling it 'mobile planner', would not just be confusing, it would be misleading.

Yeah, that's true, but there are a lot of disappointed comments about that too. Instead of an update to the planner that makes it no planner anymore, they would better have it made into a separate MRA Tracking App or something... I have to admit that a lot of decisions in the MRA development are rather erratic.

@sudolea said in New MRA Mobile app:

I think it's the people calling everything MRA (while it is not) are causing there own confusion.

Then you might be in the ideal position to get a lot of people out of their confusion with what follows below...

@nick-carthew said in New MRA Mobile app:

The preferred reference to MyRoute-app is now MRA
      MRA RoutePlanner
      MRA Mobile app
      MRA Navigation app

None of the apps are called MRA (and nothing more) as far as I see...
But If I may give MRA (the company...) a suggestion: To link the route planners on different platforms together, it would perhaps be better to call "MRA Mobile app" "MRA Mobile Planner". Especialla since "App" already is in the MRA shortage. But now I am probably adding to he confusion 😁

So if I understand you correctly, MRA Navigation, not carrying any reference to "mobile", is not a mobile app ?

You are welcome to install it on your windows PC 😉

    • RE: New MRA Mobile app

There really is not as much confusion as it seems. Why would anyone think an app that DOES NOT carry Navigation in the name has anything to do with navigation, While MRA Navigation always has been the navigation app? There has always been MRA (as short for myroute-app) as a route planner in two versions. One for the web and one for mobile use. It's really not that hard.

And that Next comes after the first is also no brainbreaker. What comes after Next is a surprise for now 😉 and not really a concern.

I think it's the people calling everything MRA (while it is not) are causing there own confusion.

    • RE: Sygic works with GPX import again

I was ready to say it works for Android also. But it doesn't. No matter in what format I save the gpx, after opening it Sygic it calculates the fastest way from startpoint to endoint, and no shaping points are visible.

    • RE: Akrapovic exhaust in Germany

Isn't it so that an exhaust needs to be homologated in Germany for the specific bike? Having no proof of that (a certificate) is enough reason for a ticket from the police, and maybe even a walk home. Even if you do not exceed the noise limits.

    • RE: Navigation Folder list ?

@herko-ter-horst said in Navigation Folder list ?:

It's definitely 'fixed', the previous behaviour was quite annoying and counter-intuitive: just having a look at a route (even accidentally) shouldn't change anything.

Well, I have a habit of looking at routes I intend to ride, so for me it was quite convenient.

@herko-ter-horst said in Navigation Folder list ?:

@con-hennekens ...Of course this is all a work-around for the single list of all routes that we have to deal with.

      It certainly is!

    • RE: Navigation Folder list ?

@herko-ter-horst said in Navigation Folder list ?:

@con-hennekens Actually, that behaviour (the modification date updating when nothing has been modified) has been fixed. You can still trigger it to update by actually changing something in the route.

Do we call that fixed or broken? 😉
I see indeed. Easiest to make a change is to click on the pencil behind the route and click "save" or whatever that is in the English version. You don't actually have to change anything this way, and don't have to open the route.

    • RE: Navigation Folder list ?

@martin-garand, If you "touch" the routes you think you will use the coming days (by opening them in MRA and closing them again) they will move UP to the top of the list in MRA Navigation.

    • RE: Route segments.

The MRA team are very aware of what is possible and very capable of producing great new features.

I am not debating that 😉
