For me, seasonal closures meant things like closed mountain passes in the Alps or roads closed in winter.
Now I noticed this difference on a route with roadworks.
I was pleased to see that Here® plans around the roadworks.
Then I deactivated seasonal closures.
And now Here® plans the route through the roadworks.
It's good to know that this is possible. And I can live with it, but it's a setting that changes something significantly without the user being aware of it!

But what are seasonal closures really?

Für mich waren saisonale Schliessungen z.B. gesperrte Pässe in den Alpen oder geschlossene Strassen im Winter.
Jetzt fiel mir dieser Unterschied bei einer Route mit Baustelle auf.
Erfreut stellte ich fest, dass Here® um die Baustelle herum plant.
Dann deaktivierte ich Saisonale Schliessungen.
Und Here® plant jetzt die Route durch die Baustelle.
Gut zu wissen, dass es so sein kann. Und ich kann damit leben, aber das ist dann eine Einstellung, die etwas erheblich ändert, ohne dass der Nutzer sich dessen bewusst ist!
Aber was sind saisonale Schliessungen jetzt wirklich.
Auf HereWeGo® sieht es so aus.

Since I have already experienced several blockages in the Here map (but the blockage had already been lifted), but the map material had not yet been updated, I agree with this 100%.

If I am planning a trip several months ahead I do not need my route calculation to take account of every current road closure
Many of these closures will have been removed by the time I come to ride the route
The "Disable Seasonal Closures" allows me to ignore these closures & plan the route I will most likely ride in several weeks

An example - I am heading to france & spain in a few weeks & on the return journey, today the A26 near St Omer has road closures

Using the "Disable Seanoal Closures" allows me to plan the route more accuratley

If the "Disable Seasonal Closures" is modified to ignore road works then to me it would make sense to also add a switch to enable "Ignore Road Work Closures"

I think it largely depends on a) how a roadwork is communicated by the responsible government and b) how that information is interpreted by HERE. I am under the impression that some longer closures are considered seasonal, while most short closures are considered to be traffic info. I am not sure there is a very strict protocol for it.

If “sessional closure” is active you will be guided around the closed street, if deactivated you drive through the closed street.
This looks like a bug in the Here map that needs to be noticed to HERE from MRA.

The idea is if you are planning your trip in January then you would not be able to plan your route down a road that is seasonally closed in January
This is not helpful if your planning the journey in January & the journey is in June

The "Disable Seasonal Closures" tells the planner to ignore the closure so you can plan for trips later in the year

The pictures you show look more like traffic restrictions due to road works
