When I terminate a route and confirm, the "Resume Navigation?" overlay appears with the "No" and "Navigate" choices. In the past(a fair bit ago) it was possible to navigate with the Up/Down/Right/Left Arrow (Hat/Joystick) to this overlay to select a choice. Maybe it was highlighted by default and using the Hat/Joystick able to select one or the other option, I can't remember.

As it stands now, the only way to select one of the option is by touchscreen.

Is this a bug? Or could this be re-implemented if not?

Thank you!

The remote is not meant to be a full substitute for screen operation. But you are right that it used to work in earlier versions (I believe prior to v5.x). To be honest, the flow for remote operation could be improved a bit. But as I understand developers, it is intended for basic operation like zooming, panning and the sort.
